 My name is Sharie Bailey, and I am beginning my 5th year teaching Communication Applications at Palestine High School. The class is required for graduation, and it is my hope that my students will leave with the knowledge and confidence that they can be successful at anything they do.
I hold an AA from Tyler Junior College, a BFA and an MA in Theatre from Stephen F. Austin State University, and have spent most of my career (beginning year 31 this year) teaching in the DFW metroplex.
I consider what I teach to be life skills that the students who take my class will use for the rest of their lives. Not only will they develop the confidence to make presentations in front of others, but they will learn the basics of good communication and cooperation with those with whom they come in contact.
This year I am also taking on the Youth and Government organization. It will be a new experience for me, but I am confident that, along with strong student leadership, we will have a very successful year. |
