I am head of the PHS Agriculture Department. Hello, my name is Sam Stanley and I came to Palestine school district in 2004 from Texas A&M University-Commerce. I started in the horticulture department and the next year I moved to the ag. mechanics shop.
My classes include Introduction to Ag. Mechanics, Metal Fab., and Ag. Mechanics I&II. I cover basic agricultural skills from carpentry to welding. My goal is for my students to have the knowlege and skills that will enable them to take care of themselves instead of relying on others to do their repairwork. Also, if the student is interested in a career in agriculture, they can develope the advanced skills they will need to futher their education in Ag Mech.

My name is Mary Ann Mann. I teach Administrative Procedures (Work-Based Learning), Business Computer Information Systems I, and Accounting. I also coach the UIL Accounting team.

BCIS I introduces the basic concepts and skills of computer use as is needed in the workplace. Emphasis is placed on computer care and ethics, operating system use, and current computer software. Students will learn to use the following software applications in Microsoft Office: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and MS Power Point.

Web Mastery introduces the basic concepts of creating and maintaining a web site through Dreamweaver.

I went to school at Texas A & M - Commerce. I am certified to teach Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, Office Education, and Technology Applications. I currently teach Business Computer Information Systems I (BCIS). The class is composed of units in Microsoft Office 2003 including Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point. BCIS counts as a technology credit for graduation and is eligible for Tech Prep credit at the junior colleges.

I am a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University. I have been at Palestine High School since 2005. I teach all the Family and Consumer classes offered at Palestine High School. They include 2 year long classes – Personal and Family Development and Parenting Education offered to students in grades 9 – 12. The other classes offered to 10 – 12 grade students are semester courses worth one-half credit, including: Nutrition and Food Science, Apparel, Housing Individual and Family, and Child Development. These classes offer tools students can use for the rest of their lives. Come join us!
