Northside students are collecting BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION. These little coupons are on many products that you purchase – General Mills – at each grocery trip. We actually receive cash for our school for each boxtop we submit. They add up. Please let your child participate. It is fun to let children search for these products/boxtops at the store. They love to trade them for a treat in the office. The boxtops are collected all school year. We encourage you and your children to join with us all year long to collect money for our school to enhance your child's learning.

Absences:
When your child is absent, the day he/she returns to school, please send a parent or doctor note explaining the absence. The district provides an opportunity to make up excessive absences at Saturday School.

Registration:
Northside registration for your children will continue for the remainder of the year. The deadline for Head Start registration will be May 23, 2008. The following information will be needed to register your child: Kindergarten - Bring proof of residence, up to date shot record, child's birth certificate, Social Security card, and driver's license or ID identification.
Pre-K- Last years filed tax return, pay stubs for two months, proof of residence, birth certificate, Social Security card, up to date shot record, and driver's license or ID identification.
Head Start - Last years filed income tax return, proof of residence, up to date shot record, Social Security card, birth certificate, driver's license or ID identification, Medicaid or insurance card.

Transportations Changes:
We do not allow a child to change transportation plans without a note or call from a parent/guardian. Please call the school before 1:00 p.m. When making a bus change for your child, please have the following information ready and available: Your child's name and teacher's name, the bus number your child needs to ride, correct address where your child will be delivered, contact number, and how many days this change will be in effect. We thank you for your cooperation.

Notice:
All Pre-K/Head Start students are to be met by an adult when they get off the bus.

If you want your child to participate in field trips with his/her class, you need to sign a permission slip for each trip. The slips are sent home by the teachers. The following field trips are scheduled for May, 2008:
May 20: Kindergarten classes will visit Southside School
May 22: AR Students to go to Mazzio's for pizza with Mrs. Dutton
May 29: Kindergarten will go to Southside Baptist Church for graduation.
