About Me
I am a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University. I have taught at Palestine High School since 2005. I teach all Family and Consumer Science classes at Palestine High School offered through Career and Technical Education. Year-long classes (1 credit)
Personal & Family Development(Grades 9-12) – Comprehensive course which covers a broad range of knowledge and skills related to personal development, decision-making, relationships, child care, clothing, and foods & nutrition.

Parenting Education(Grades 9-12) – Designed to address special needs and interests of teen parents.
Semester classes (1/2 credit)
Nutrition and Food Science (Grades 10-12) – This is a in-depth laboratory course that concentrates on nutrition, food choices, as well as food management skills throughout the life cycle.

Apparel (Grades 10-12) - Study areas include managing the clothing dollar, clothing repair, wardrobe planning, clothing construction, and career preparation.

History of Housing(Grades 10-12) – Included in the course are types of housing, history or housing, space utilization, interior design and decorating.

Individual and Family(Grades 10-12) – Special attention is focused on understanding the roles, responsibilities, and impact of the family on individuals and society, promoting and strengthening the family unit, and managing multiple family, community, and wage earner roles.

Child Development(Grades 10-12) – This course is designed to focus on knowledge and skills related to the development, care, guidance, and protections of children.
